What Are The Best Bonnets Or “Pads” For VLM Carpet Cleaning?

pads

Hi again,

Last time we talked about carpet cleaning pads or “bonnets” and why they are so important.

Reminder: I recommend these white rayon pads with green scrubbing strips.

If your budget allows, I recommend buying at least 1-2 dozen pads. I keep 25-50 pads in my van at all times.

That’s because a good VLM cleaner will use between 1-3 pads PER ROOM that they clean. That adds up quickly!

I’ve had carpet cleaning jobs where I used a couple dozen pads to get the carpets clean.

The dirtier the carpets… the more pads you’ll need to use. So buy a few!

Now… you don’t want to buy any old pad on the internet.

I’ve also talked to hundreds of other carpet cleaners who have tried every single cheap pad out there. The white pads, microfiber pads, thick pads, thin pads, green stripe, brown stripe, blue stripe, etc.

After hours of testing and hundreds of dollars wasted… they always arrive at the same conclusion: get the white rayon pads with green stripes.

You’ll find that these pads get better results and last longer.

Best,

P.S. – You’ll need to wash these pads after every use. Personally, I like to stop at the laundromat at the end of the day and toss all my pads in a big $6.00 washer (price may vary in your area). Put a little non-scented laundry detergent in and run it on HOT. Then hang your pads dry for the next day.

P.P.S. – It’s okay if your pads aren’t 100% dry after hanging overnight. You don’t need to completely dry the pads before you use them again. In fact, a “moist” pad will actually work better for VLM cleaning. Some pro carpet cleaners even spray a little cleaning solution on their pads (or dip them in water) before they start cleaning.
